Dream Yacht: A Design Study Part II

The exploration of lines, shapes, proportion and general aesthetics doesn't stop with sketching but continues into the modeling stages of the overall process. As difficult as it can be to really imagine how something will look in all dimensions on a monitor, I find the process of exploring the proportions at this stage exciting. The program offers a myriad of ways to define an overall shape and I always feel the excited by the possibilities. The first shape to define was the main hull. Creating cross sections at critical areas help define the final model. This process is called "lofting."
